More than 97.8 crore ABHA health accounts had been created and over 121 crore health records linked to the Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission (ABDM) as of 1 September 2026, according to a report on the Aarogya Manthan 2026 event held on 25 September, which also marked five years of the mission.

Earlier milestones: a Press Information Bureau document and trade coverage reported 100 crore ABHA-linked records by May 2026. In June 2026 the health ministry relaunched Aarogya Setu 2.0 as a citizen-facing personal health record app under ABDM, and a hospital system for small clinics, eSushrut@Clinic, was reported with more than 2,200 facilities onboarded.

Why it matters for careers

Hospitals and clinics that connect to ABDM need staff who understand ABHA linking and health data standards such as FHIR. Health IT teams, clinical informatics roles and medical records staff are where that work lands.
