Several of India’s large private hospital groups have announced bed additions over the next few years. New beds mean new nursing, allied health and administrative posts, though announcements are plans, not confirmed hiring.

  • Max Healthcare: plans to add 3,700 beds by 2028 with a ₹6,000 crore investment (Outlook Business). Its board approved ₹1,400 crore for a 712-bed greenfield hospital in Lucknow (Business Today, May 2026), and it reported higher clinician costs from hiring ahead of new facilities.
  • Park Medi World: aims to add 1,450 beds by FY28, taking it from 4,290 to 5,740, and employed 6,423 people at 31 March 2026 (Outlook Business). A separate report from 31 August cites a larger 2,100-bed target, so the figures conflict.
  • Apollo Hospitals: reports describe plans for about 1,600 new beds across the network (Digital Health News, undated) and a wider multi-year plan.
  • Fortis: signed a long-term lease for a hospital of nearly 200 beds in Greater Noida (Business Today, May 2026).

A July 2026 sector report expects private chains to add over 38,000 beds by 2030.
