Who this is for

Foreign medical graduates (FMGs) returning to India.

Steps

  1. 1Check that your foreign degree meets the eligibility conditions in the current NMC rules.
  2. 2Register for FMGE as the NBEMS bulletin directs.
  3. 3After qualifying, complete the internship the rules require and apply for council registration.
  4. 4Note that NExT, the planned common exit exam, has had its start dates revised more than once. Follow NMC and NBEMS only.

Common mistakes

  • Joining an overseas course without first checking it against NMC eligibility.
  • Believing coaching-centre claims about NExT dates.
